In 2020, I got my car ceramic coated at a shop. Loved the result but it cost so much!
A year later, I started to do research on how to apply it myself. I bought the tools and chemical products needed and practiced on my car. Little did I know how much effort, time and money it really takes to clean, prepare and coat the paint surface.
I didn’t really consider creating a business out of it due to how much effort goes into it and concerns of a lack of client interest. But I asked around and with 3 confirmed clients plus my younger brother to help with the detailing, let’s do it up.
It quickly turned from learning a new hobby to developing an efficient system, doing cost analysis to make sure prices are fair for the value I add for our clients, and presenting our hard work in an easy to understand way. We’re working on getting better tools, products and add-ons to our packages as interest increases.
